St. Charles Celtics 38+ Blue Complete Competition
at Campton Hills Park with Style

9/28/08-Campton Hills Park--St. Charles Celtics 38+ Blue has completed competition at Campton Hills Park. Campton Hills was our home field for over 15 years. The Celtics were victorious over International SC, their heated rivals from second place in the Northwest Suburban Soccer League over 38 division, that have been chasing us in the standings all year long.

"We came out with intensity and pressure right from the beginning," said Celtics forward Gary Cole. "We knew it was going to be a tight match." The constant pressure, great passing and excellent movement off the ball really opened up the field for us, resulting in a 5-1 victory. We had five different scores finding the back of the net, Brian Swindle, Tim Petsche, John Myall, David Rout and Kurt Tierney.

"I thought we created some excellent chances and put some great final touches on it," Cole said. "Our previous away match against them resulted in a 1-1 tie, at home on a bigger field, I think it is a much better advantage for us."

The St. Charles Celtics will certainly miss the spacious fields. They ranked among the top in the leagues and played to our advantage with the full size fields.

Special thanks to the St. Charles Park District, Campton Hills Park and The Grounds Keeper for all of the hard work in preparing the fields for match play. They were excellent fields and many great games played there. The fields will now be converted to a state-of-the-art water park for the entire surrounding community to enjoy.
