St. Charles Celtics Soccer Club goes Online!

Welcome to our new website. The St. Charles Celtics formed in 1981 and serve as the umbrella organization for several teams at various competitive levels. We have created many great teams and memories through the years. The club concluded an expedient way to share information with the players and community is online.

This website achieves several goals. Primarily, the Celtics' maintain an open practice policy. We welcome new players from the Fox Valley area and encourage the development of United States Soccer in general and St. Charles, Illinois specifically. This site also informs players and the community of schedules, pitch locations, match results, and other club interests. Furthermore, we welcome team members, alumni, and interested parties to use the site for networking in academics, business, or social activities.

A special thanks to all the developmental contributors of our site, especially the TechPro Programming Department of Barry Bourdage, Bob Butterworth and Frank Picchi and the Design Department of Gary Cole. Your efforts and knowledge are appreciated. Through everyone's efforts, our website truly reflects the Celtics' spirit- "Growing Soccer through Teamwork".

Celtics Partner with Sportsplex

St. Charles Celtics have formed its own indoor Over-30 soccer league at Sportsplex in St. Charles. There are 10 teams, 8 of which were formed via the Celtic club as “House Teams”. Two are independent teams, formed on their own. The goal of the Celtics teams was to achieve parity so as to assure competitive games every week. That goal has been achieved as only 9 team-points separate the 1st place team from the 7th place team over the first 9 weeks of the season. Games are played every Wednesday evening, 7:30-10:00 pm. The Winter-Season tournament wraps up on March 26 at 9:00 pm with the championship game. Come out and watch some highly skilled, classy soccer! It’s intensely entertaining!

Sportsplex management has been very friendly and accommodating, working in true partnership with the Celtics club. As Humphrey Bogart once put it, “...this could be the beginning of a beautiful relationship.” One example of that partnership is Sportsplex’s and the Celtics club’s sponsorship of practice jerseys. Celtics creative-director, Gary Cole, designed logo’s that are going on over 120 green and black striped reversible, mesh jerseys. Each will have the Celtics and Sportsplex logo on the chest and sleeve, on each side. An excellent representation of our partnership and a functional tool for the club. More sportswear is expected to be created as needs and funding arise.

The Celtics club is very excited about our opportunity with Sportsplex and appreciate their support. On March 26, the first visual symbol of our partnership will be on display in the form of the new jerseys, not to mention some very good soccer in the best indoor-soccer facility in Chicagoland. Thanks Sportsplex and lets keep the ball rolling!
